SW 136 ST FROM US-1 TO old cutler bay rd
Client: Village of Palmetto Bay | Miami-Dade County
R.J. Behar was contracted by the Village of Palmetto Bay to provide professional engineering services for the construction of this roadway improvement project and on-road dedicated bicycle lanes along SW 136th Street from US-1 to Cutler Road. This was a Local Agency Program (LAP) Agreement project between Miami-Dade County, the Village of Palmetto Bay, the Village of Pine Crest and the Florida Department of Transportation.
The project involved roadway plans, pavement marking and signing plans, Temporary Traffic Control Plans, utility coordination, drainage design and permitting. The improvements required milling and resurfacing of the existing roadway and pavement widening to accommodate an on-road dedicated bicycle lane. The primary challenge for this project was accommodating the proposed sidewalks and bicycle lanes in a right-of-way constrained corridor
