LYONS PARK NEIGHBORHOOD IMPROVEMENT PROJECT
Client: City of Pompano Beach | Broward County
The sanitary sewer lines within the Lyons Park Neighborhood were in the rear yard easements of the properties/homes. One of the City of Pompano Beach’s comprehensive plan policies was to identify the feasibility of implementing capital projects to relocate the sewer lines or to rehabilitate them in place. This project included the design for the relocation of the sewers to the street’s right-of-way with new lateral services. The project also included the design of waterline relocations in areas where there were conflicts.
As part of the project, all the streets were reconstructed with new pavement markings, new storm sewer systems, sanitary sewer systems, and regraded swales. The design included the structural design of seawall repairs for new outfalls. An extensive public outreach effort was conducted, including presentations, workshops, and one-on-one meetings. R.J. Behar is also performing the construction management and inspection services.
